Julian Vogel / Cie. unlisted stands out for its artistic approach at the intersection of circus, contemporary performance and visual arts. The works explore the unique properties of ceramics and movement by creating scenic universes for conventional and unconventional venues. The company is based in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Under the artistic direction of Julian Vogel, the projects CHINA SERIES (2021) and CRESCENDO (2024) have gained international attention. In October 2024, the new solo piece CERAMIC CIRCUS will celebrate its premiere at Les SUBS, Lyon (FR). The artistic projects are firmly influenced by Roman Müller, who has been an important collaborator, outside eye and co-creator to Julian since 2019.
The company is closely supported by Les SUBS (FR) since 2023 and benefits from the structural funding COMPASS by Pro Helvetia (2023 – 2025), which marks an important milestone in the company’s history.
About Julian Vogel:
After a degree in psychology and art history at the University of Bern, Julian Vogel studied at the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg (NL), with specialization in Diabolo. He has developed innovative projects like CHINA SERIES, an installation and performance series that explores ceramic diabolos he constructs, assembles, manipulates, and breaks.
Julian Vogel is laureate circusnext 2020/21 and associated artist of House of Panama (NL) and involved in multiple European artistic projects as a performer, dramaturge and music producer. He co-founded Cie. Trottvoir in 2012 and KLUB GIRKO in 2017, creating several works.
